Aurora Chamber Update

Kevin Hogen Aurora Chamber
President and CEO
Kevin Hogen, Chamber CEO,  focused his presentation
on recent developments in Aurora.  He identified
twelve employment sectors:

Aerospace                                 Airlines
Associations                            Automobile
Banking                                     City Govt.
Colleges & Universities       Construction
Hospitals                                  Hotels
Manufacturing                       Military

These employment sectors are generating 200 jobs
per month and are a major factor in the growing
economy.
Kevin  drew attention to several major projects,
Gaylord, Globalfest, and Prairie Waters project.
The Prairie Waters Project is a unique
development that allows water to be recycled
to extinction.
Recycled water is put into the Platte from the
recycling  plant located near the Arapahoe
Fairgrounds.
The water is withdrawn through gravel  pits
located in Brighton.  The filtering action as
the water travels underground helps purify the water.
It is pumped into a large pipe that takes the water
back to the recycling plant by the fairgrounds.
Kevin made the point that the size of Aurora would
have been severely restricted if the city hadn't made
good water decisions in the past.
Kevin encouraged voters to pay attention
to these "Unresolved Opportunities":

Support:  FCD Tax and Cherry Creek Schools 3A and 3B.

Oppose:   Amendments 78 and 69
