are required for enrollment in school.
Tri County Health keeps records and requires
the necessary immunizations.  The Aurora Fire

Hoffman Heights fire station.
Parents are asked to bring the child's shot
record with them.
Aurora Rotary furnishes volunteers to help
with logistics and also furnishes lunches for

    Improving Balance

Chris Price, physical therapist and owner of
Body Image Physical Therapy & Fitness, PC,
said that falls are the leading cause of death
in people over 55.

Chris asked Gage De Young help in
demonstrating which muscles are used in
standing and walking.
She illustrated what  happens as people develop
limps and other compensating issues.  Most of the
audience related to what she described.

Chris used Art Wolfe to show how people
standing on uneven surfaces even in grocery
stores can easily by pushed off balance.
Chris advocates some simple exercises that
people can do every day to improve their
balanceChris says these exercises can be
incorporated into daily life without setting
specific time to do exercises.
Chris distributed a sheet showing exercises
such as balancing on one foot for 60 seconds
per leg, walking in a straight line heel to toe
for 10 to 20 feet at a time.
