First Responder's Award Luncheon

Kimberly Armitage is to be congratulated for
selling 19 tables which is two more than last year.
 
Members are asked to be there at 11:00
Seating will begin at 11:30
Meal to be served starting at 11:45
Awards to start at 12:30
Members are asked to pick up their badges
from Gene when they come in.
Members will be directed to tables
needing Rotarians.
 
 
              Fundamentals of Rotary
  
George Peck was asked to create a new feature to remind
members of the "Fundamentals of Rotary."  His First
reminder is what Rotary is and does:
"We are 1.2 million neighbors, friends, and community
leaders who come together to create positive, lasting
change in our communities and around the world."
 
Notes from Board Meeting
John Witulski, who does the club financials was asked
to come and describe some options to simplify the
financials.
 
"By vote of the Rotary board of directors and the
club membership on September 21, 2016, the Club
Bylaws will be amended to state that 'All bills paid
by check shall be signed by the treasurer, president,
or president-elect'  ".

Sam Adams
    Renaissance Man
 
   
Sam Adams is a prize-winning comedian, an award
winning journalist, an author, a local TV sports
analyst and some people thinks he makes a great beer.
Sam is featured on channel 9 on "A to Z".  He is A and
Ron Zappolo is Z.
He has spoken to 21 Rotary Clubs so far.  He started as
a Bronco beat  writer with the Rocky Mountain News in
1993.
He did some standup Comedy as a sideline and won
an award at the Comedy FestivalWhen the Rocky
Mountain News closed in 2009, he was hired onto
the Denver Post by Woody Paige.
He decided he needed to follow his "passion" and
did so spending a lot of time in Nebraska going from
small town to small town.  He advises and encourages
people to "exercise your right to laugh."
 
 
President Patti Bateman presented Sam with a
Rotary coin as a memento of his visit to our club.
