MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT REGINA EDMONDSON

COVID19 Information

We care about the health and safety of our member and community. As we continue to monitor and learn more about the spread of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to share some information with you. You’ve probably seen the following guidelines before, but they’re important and worth repeating:

Stay at home and do not travel.
If you need medical attention and it is a non-emergency, please call your doctor, do not attempt to travel to the emergency room.
If you need medication, please check with your local pharmacy. NOTE: Many of the larger drug chains will deliver without additional charge.

**IF YOU MUST LEAVE HOME:
⦁ Wear a cloth mask that fully covers your mouth and nose.
⦁ Wear gloves when going outside and keep them on while outside.
⦁ Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer after each use of disposable gloves.
⦁ When returning home take off shoes and clothing leaving them by the door.
⦁ Wash your face and hands before touching anything in your home after going outside.
⦁ If using a cloth mask, wash it every day in hot soapy water and air dry.

Book Drive- We are still collecting books for the Sharing Summer Stories. Set aside all of gently used books. Aurora Rotary is partnering with Aurora Public Schools and Cherry Creek Schools to provides books for elementary school students to read over the summer. If  you have books for a little older audience set those aside as well for student family members.

Councilman Gardner shared that the City of Aurora has a program funded for rental assistance.  Additional details are on the City of Aurora website.

Vocational provided today by member David Dreibelbis.  David was born in Lima Peru.  His grandfather was a member of the OSS, which was a precursor of today's CIA.  The family was not aware of this until after his death and his grandmother began to receive government checks.  They also found several photos of him with J. Edgar Hoover and the President.  David has moved all over the country and in his youth lived in 13 different houses, so he is used to packing and living light.  His parents were in the airline industry for most of their careers and at one point they competed with each other as leaders within separate airlines. David comes to the Aurora Rotary Club from the Cape Coral Rotary Club, he is our Shots for Tots coordinator, he maintains the Club website, and he is the “go-to” person for all things technical. Next time you see David, ask him about the huge project he coordinated & supervised for the Coast Guard! David was a Boy Scout and also became an Explorer while he was still in school.  This group spent a lot of time with fire fighters basically working with them as apprentice fire fighters and/or paramedics.  He learned a lot in this area, but decided he didn't want to be a fire fighter.  He has spent most of his career in the medical or a medical related field primarily in Florida.  He and his wife decided they wanted to be closer to his family and their kids, so they moved to Denver.   David and his wife started a wholesale medication provider called Ikon Meds (https://ikonmeds.com/) .   They currently provide medications and PPE.  Thanks David for sharing about your life and times....up until now!!!  If you get a chance connect with David to learn more about him and his business....very knowledgeable about pharma and lots of other stuff.

Next  meeting on 06/10/2020 Virtual.
