Up with people
Coming to Denver
Hello Everyone!
This is Ana and Micaela from Up with People! We just want to talk to you about and exciting
opportunity to bring the world into your home this summer!

Up  with  People  is  a  global  non-profit  organization  that  brings  100  young  leaders  from 15  different  countries together for a 6-month tour through parts of the US, Canada, and Europe. Our mission is to inspire youth to be positive agents of change through music and action. While on tour the cast will visit a different city each week, participate in community service projects, stay with local host families, and perform a live show.

This  upcoming  summer  we  have our  group  of  100  participants  coming  to  Denver  for their
month-long  staging period  where  they  will  spend  most  days  learning  their  new  show,
learning  to  spread  the  mission  of  Up  with People,  and  getting  to  know  their  fellow
cast  members  .  Staging  B‘19  will  begin  July  26th  (with  some  staff members arriving
earlier on July 15th  and  study  abroad  participants on July 23th). Staging  will end on  August 26th, and the world tour will then begin!
We  are  very  excited  to  start  off  Cast  B  2019  this  summer  and  are  still  in  need  of
host  families!  If  you  are interested in hosting one or more participants from our program,
here’s all the information you might need:

LOCATION
While we are still confirming the location of our final week performance venue, we have confirmed
our return to New Hope Baptist Church (3701 Colorado Blvd Denver, CO  80205) as our primary operation facility!  We are very excited to continue our partnership with this central Denver
community.

SCHEDULE
Our participants will be working Monday to Friday from 8:00am till 6:00pm with a few Saturdays and
later pickup times which we will let you know about in advance.
Sundays are our days off. We get to spend the whole day with you!

TRANSPORTATION
Daily morning and evening shuttles are being arranged for this summer as before. We are assuming shuttle stop locations along the South (Parker/Highlands Ranch/Littleton) route and North (Longmont/Broomfield/Thornton) route as before.
•   Daily transportation to and from  the shuttles/facility is required.
•   Drop off times at shuttle stops will be determined by stop locations.
•   We will revise these stop locations and times as necessary once we have confirmed all the host
families for this summer. If we have a big number of host families in your area, we will revise the
shuttle stops to fit the needs of that community.
•   If it fits your schedule and needs better, you can drop off your guests at 8am and pick them up
at 6pm at the facility.
•   Carpooling is a great way to make this happen! Invite your neighbors to host and take turns on
drop offs and pick-ups!
•   Uber. Up with People will only provide shuttle transportation into the facility but if you
choose to do so, Uber is another tool you can use for transportation. For you to have a price
reference; going from Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church to New Hope Baptist church is a 7 minute drive and it costs $7.65 on Uber X and $4.38 on Uber Pool.

MEALS
You will be providing all breakfasts and most dinners, Up with People will cover all lunches during the week and every Saturday when we are working with our participants.   We are hopeful that the details for this staging will enable you to partner with us as a host family for Summer 2019.

As a reminder, here are some key dates:
Monday, July 15: Staff arrival Tuesday July 23: Study Abroad Participant Arrival
Friday, July 26: Participant arrival Saturday, August 24: Cast B 2019's Premiere Show Monday,
August 26: Cast B 2019 departs
If you are ready to sign up, go to https://upwithpeople.org/host-family-form/ !
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or ideas for the summer. You can reach
both of us via email at staging@upwithpeople.org

Sincerely,
