Announcements
Due to the increase in Covid-19 infections Governor Polis implemented new restriction preventing us from meeting in person for the remainder of the yearWe will continue to meet virtually using the same Zoom link below. Look for an email Thursday mornings from Kimberly Armitage detailing next steps.
--------------------
Member Bill Wiggins updated us on the health of his wife Molly. She is home and on the road to recovery. Bill is her primary caregiver so let's keep Bill and Molly in our thoughts.
-------------------
Please remember we are still ringing the bell for Salvation Army this year. There are still some spots available for you to sign up to help this worthy cause on Christmas Eve. Member Roy Snyder is by himself 1-3 at the Smokey Hill location. It would be nice to get him some help. 3-5 at Iliff and Buckley is available to help out the Interact Club. That sounds like fun! Those kids are great.
Go to
to sign up. Remember you must purchase a kit complete with an apron, bell, mask and hand sanitizer for $20 in order to participate. Feel free to use a bell-ringing app on your phone if you would like something more substantial than the small bells included in the kit.

Member Sam LaMar updated us on what we've gathered so far. The Interact Club received $676 in donation at the Iliff and Buckley location last Saturday.. The six young volunteers had never participated before and are eager to do more. That's why we have an Interact Club!
Last Saturday the Southlands & Himalaya King Sooper location brought in $984. Smokey Hill received $992 in Donations.

If you are not able or comfortable with bell ringing, you can still donate at the Virtual Red Kettle. Just go to

Overall Sam said the Salvation Army is about $35k behind because they can’t find people to work the Kettles. Typically they average 40 sites/day and now can only operate about 3. Please contact him is you would like to help outside our dedicated Rotary times. The good news is that Rotarians average an intake of $99/hour. That's significantly higher than others. Great job friends!
--------------------
President Phil Gibson announced that his daughter will be signing at the Southlands King Sooper location Saturday 12/12/2020 from 9-11. She is a classically-trained opera signer! We can't wait to find out the donations that day! Feel free to stop by and hear her.
--------------------
Member Rick Richard reminded us again that December is Rotary Foundation donation month. As with most things in 2020, donation solicitation will look different this year since we won't be meeting in person. Please help the Rotary Club of Aurora meet its $4500 goal. Remember these contributions help with things like funding exchange students and 90.8% of donations go straight to projects. Just fill out a Rotary Foundation Donation form found here and send it with your check/credit card number to Rick at 3800 South Elkhart St. Aurora, CO 80014

If you're wondering how close you are to your next, or first, Paul Harris Fellowship, Rick can look that up for you. Thank you so much for your support to this worthy cause!

--------------------
Member Danielle Lammon gave an update about the Bike Giveaway for A Precious Child. She is presenting a bicycle and helmet to an 8 year old girls and 11 year old boy. What a happy Christmas they will have because of her efforts. Thank you Danielle!!
--------------------
Member Danielle Lammon sent along a sincere thank you from the Rotary District for our participation in the Rotary Day of Service on Saturday December 5th. She is coordinating next year's day on May 5, 2021. Please contact her if you have an idea or would like to help her with organization.
--------------------
President Phil told the club that we have received a $500 donation for the international Project for the property in Africa that Josh and Rob presented a couple of weeks ago. We plan to reignite our support for this project. More to come.
--------------------
President Phil also reminded us that December 15th is the final day to apply for the credit for this quarter's dues. Member Kimberly Armitage sent a final email regarding this so if you haven't completed this task, please do so by Tuesday.
------------------
Remember there is no meeting December 23rd or December 30th. Happy Holidays!!

Guest Speaker-Dr. W. Scott Brown, Hebert Advisory Services
Dr. Brown, a member of the Rotary Club of Golden, spoke to the club
about the good and bad of biases. Most are positive and help us live
a safer, more efficient lift. While there are over 200 biases the doctor
discusses 3 of these in detail. Try to identify where they fit in your life
while listening to Dr. Brown's entire presentation starting at about
37:25 in the video link here.

Text the word “Bias” to 303-263-3987 or email him at
DrScottBrown1@gmail.com for coffee or tea to discuss the topic of Bias.
Sounds interesting
