Aurora Rotary's signature project
It is scheduled to open in the summer of 2019
It is located East of 470 South of Arapahoe Rd.
Rick Richard is the chair of the Red-Tailed Hawk project and is assisted by Patti Bateman and Linda Witulski.
Rick showed a Power Point that detailed several
meetings the committee has had with Aurora Parks
and Rec.
The Aurora Rotary Foundation forwarded $100,000 to
the city which enabled them to get some of the grants
needed to help fund the project. The projected budget
is $700,000.. One of the action steps was for city
approval which happened on 5-31.
Rick listed some of the committees such as the "Thank
You Committee" which thanks businesses that have
donated. One of the other committees is the Web Committee chaired by Shannon Brunston who created
the website and will keep it up to date.
Golf Tournament
Jim Bickford announced that it is time for the
foursomes to sign up. We have a guarantee of
72 players that hasn't been filled so far. The
tournament is Monday, June 25 at Heritage
Eagle Bend Golf Course. it is a 7:30 shotgun
start.
Tracy Burt
The memorial for Tracy is Tuesday, June 5 at
Fairmount Mortuary at 10 am. He will be interred
at Fort Logan Cemetary.

Salvation Army
Lt. Sam LeMar

Lt. Sam LeMar Conducted the meeting. He was
assisted by his wife Lt. Felicia LeMar.
He began by graciously thanking Rotary for all the
the support they've given over the years. in Aurora.
He showed a Power Point that showed children
enjoying Summer Camp. They sent 100 children to
camp at a cost of $100 per child that comes to
$35,000.
They also have before and after school programs
needy children that qualify. Part of the program is
augment the schools food program. The Salvation
Army provides food on weekends and summer breaks.
They also conduct free sewing classes.
The Salvation Army conducts church services every
Sunday. Part of the ministry includes Women's
Ministries and Men's Fellowships services.
They've run High Peak Camp near Estes Park
since 1986.
These are just a few of the services the Salvation
Army runs and the reason that Aurora Rotary
supports the Salvation Army.
