Shari Plantz-Masters, PhD. Academic Dean, College of Computer &
Information Services and Linda Osterlund, PhD Academic Dean College for Health Professions from Regis University were our two speakers.
Regis aims to develop students as a whole person. Students from all faith backgrounds are bonded together by the common purpose of building a better society and are shaped by Jesuit, Catholic traditions, which emphasize the importance of critical thinking, having a global perspective and standing up for those who do not have a voice.
With a small student-to-faculty ratio, our award-winning faculty is dedicated to empowering graduates with the skills and perspective needed to harness their passions and talents and spur change on a local and global scale. Regis offers degrees at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. Dr. Plantz-Masters discussed the differing degrees with the CCIS program. Accreditation with the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, the recognized accreditor of college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology, demonstrates a program’s commitment to providing its students with a high-quality education. Regis has three undergraduate programs with ABET accreditation – Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, and Computer Science. About 1,300 schools nationwide offer computing programs, but Regis is one of just 308 that offers accredited programs. Furthermore, Regis is one of just eight institutions nationwide to offer those accredited programs 100 percent online.
Dr. Osterlund discussed the College of Health Professions. The Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions (RHCHP) is comprised of three schools: Nursing, Pharmacy and Physical Therapy; and two divisions: Counseling and Family Therapy and Health Services Education. Our innovative and dynamic degree and certificate programs are designed to prepare you for a variety of careers in the health professions with cutting-edge knowledge essential in today's ever-changing health care environments. There is significant competition to enter the program and the graduates are high quality. Loretto Heights School of Nursing is a top nursing school in Colorado. Our graduates are recognized for their knowledge, competence, compassion, ethics and leadership abilities. Our mission is to provide high quality, values-centered, professional nursing education and to strengthen a commitment to social justice and community service.
