Announcements
President Phil Gibson presented three members with Paul Harris awards. Congratulations members Patti Bateman, Jim Bickford and Pete Traynor!! Your commitment and dedication to Rotary are truly appreciated.
--------------------
President Phil Gibson reported that the Aurora Day of Giving was a huge success! Rumor has it families in need were served until 2 pm and many volunteers stayed until 3:30 helping clean up. This kind of community services is what Rotary is all about. Thank you to all that helped out!
--------------------
We were reminded that the Virtual President's luncheon was Sunday November 1st. Hope you all had a chance to attend.
--------------------
The Salvation Army got approval from Walmart and King Soopers to ring the bell this holiday season. As a Covid precaution volunteers will probably need to purchase our own aprons rather than pass them down to the next volunteer. Please participate only if you feel safe in doing so.

King Soopers is also conducting a “Round up” campaign for the Salvation Army during the holiday season. They will ask customers if they would like to round up their final total to next dollar and donate the extra to the Salvation Army. Given how people don't want to handle coins these days, we expect this to be a huge success.
--------------------
Josh Sebastian and fellow Rotarian Andy McKean (Jeffco Rotary) are seeking funds from our club to send a Project C.U.R.E. container to the Hospital Dela Paix in Senegal, Africa. Each Project C.U.R.E. container holds medical supplies and equipment totaling   $350,000 - $400,000 dollars. Details of the project can be seen here. They have raised approximately $17,000 to send these supplies overseas.  Josh visited this hospital and he was devastated by how the hospital was operating as they have 662,179 people in population surrounding the hospital.  The patient volume is 360 per day with 172 beds, 15 Doctors and 30 nurses.  The goal is to get lifesaving equipment to the experts that need it to help alleviate the suffering of the local residents. Josh and Andy were instructed to submit a request to the Rotary Club of Aurora Foundation for funds. Click here if you would like information about making an individual donation to this worthy cause.
