President’s Project

Each year, our current Club President has the opportunity to choose a special “President’s Project” for the Club to rally behind. This featured initiative may include hands-on volunteering, fundraising and donations, community support, or a combination of all three. Club members are encouraged to enthusiastically get behind the President’s selected charity or project as we work together to make a meaningful impact in our community.

Ryan Turbyfill, 2025/2026 President, has selected Serenity House Africa as his project.

Serenity House Africa is dedicated to Creating Safe Havens for Africa’s Most Vulnerable Children, with a mission focused on building safety, stability, and opportunity for children in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Their work centers on three powerful areas of impact:

  • Quality Education: Providing hope through learning by covering school tuition (about $100 per child per year) and helping supply the essentials students need to succeed, including school supplies.

  • After-School Program (DRC): Offering a safe, supportive space where children can get off the streets, receive a meal, and get help with schoolwork and learning support.

  • Safe Housing (Uganda): Building a permanent home in Kampala, Uganda, designed to house 20 children who are currently homeless, giving them a secure place to live, grow, and thrive.

Together, these programs create a pathway from vulnerability to possibility—meeting immediate needs while building long-term futures.
