Please sign up to volunteer to support the Salvation Army and the Buckley SFB Military & Family Readiness Center for their annual Holiday Party. Military families have the opportunity to come to together in celebration of the holiday season through games, food, crafts and shopping. Carl needs help on Dec. 8th from 1-4pm at the Salvation Army to prepare food. The event starts at 11am on Dec. 9th at the old Bar Louie in Southlands. Volunteers are needed in multiple areas from 11a-1pm. Per MSgt Jackson - Salvation Army will have all the food and toys there, so we can start eating about 1130 or so, as well as have kids choose two toys each. We’ll have a professional photographer area for families to get their Christmas photo taken, we’ll have activities at the tables, music playing, etc. We’ll have the bulk of the toys upstairs, and volunteers will help watch the kids while their parents go upstairs and take a trash bag of toys without the kids watching, then they won’t have to go shopping again. After Bar Louie, we’ll adjourn to the ice skating rink, and some folks will stay behind to help Salvation Army clean up and get ready to leave. After the ice rink, we’ll walk to the movie theater, where we’ll watch “Polar Express”.
