Signature Project 2017-2018

Red Tailed Hawk Inclusive Playground

We are making a wish come true through the Make-a-Wish Foundation in designing and constructing an all-inclusive playground at the current Red-tailed Hawk Park, the first of its kind in Aurora. Through pledged donations from the Rotary Club of Aurora and a county grant, the city of Aurora will be able to build a playground that enables side-by-side play between able-bodied persons and those with disabilities.

The design incorporates play and learning experience including the use of sound, colors, smells, texture and light to stimulate sensory skills.

Salvation Army
The Aurora Rotary Club is proud to partner with the Salvation Army in Aurora, Colorado. From bell ringing in December, to 'adopting' a family at Christmas, having Corps Officers as members, we work with the Salvation Army throughout the year.

The Aurora Rotary Foundation was awarded a certificate by the local chapter in honor of our past donations.

Rotary Youth Exchange
The Aurora Rotary Club first hosted an exchange student in 1959. Since then we have hosted and sent high school students abroad for both long term & short term exchanges. Our most recent inbound student is from Germany.

You do not need to be a Rotarian to host a Rotary Youth Exchange student!
