Rotary Club of Aurora Projects

President Regina Edmondson led the club this week in discussions around the projects the Rotary Club of Aurora is involved in.

  - Rotary Foundation International

Since it was founded more than 100 years ago, the Foundation has spent more than $4 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects. The mission of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.

  1. The Rotary Club of Aurora has 157 Paul Harris Fellows.

The Paul Harris Fellow program recognizes individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.  The honor was established in 1957 to show appreciation for contributions that support our Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or an approved Foundation grant.

  2. These monies support prevention of disease, clean water, supporting education, growing local economies, saving mothers and children and promoting peace.

  3. For as little as 60 cents, a child can be protected from polio.
  4. $50 can provide clean water to help fight waterborne illness.
  5. $500 can launch an antibullying campaign and create a safe environment for children.
  6. All monies given come back to the Rotary Club of Aurora for use in the community.
  7. Bill Gates Foundation has indicated they will match what is given for polio from Rotary.
